Rebuilt in 1907, the Leopard retains its Victorian charm and is the epitome of a traditional pub. The development of the first floor provides a music venue offering excellent sound and vision for an audience of up to 200 people. The pub's clientele have been variously described as eclectic, convivial and bohemian, coming in all shapes and sizes, from filofax to flat cap, from shovels to laptops. It is the sort of place where after just a few visits the bar staff call you by name; know your tipple and you find yourself amongst friends and acquaintances.
The pub has been in the Good Beer Guide for the last decade, your coffee is served in a mug, and being a haven for the adult, children are not allowed.
Q magazine's reporter said the "best gig ever" was seeing The Damned at the Leopard saying it was the "best little venue" in the country.
